How to Start Wearing Wigs with Confidence: First Outings, handling Compliments, and how to look after it.

When starting to look at options such as wigs it can be due to hair loss or just looking at new ways to express yourself with a new look or style. Whatever the reason, it can be a major step and you might feel nervous, happy, excited or even sad and on top of all that you'll have a lot of questions.

When wearing a wig for the first time you need to have a few factors put in place,

One what sort of wig you’re after, will it be human, synthetic, fashion or medical list goes on.

Two how often you plan to wear the wig, will it be every day or on events.

What sort of budget you have – meaning how much are you willing to spend on a wig.

Your First Outing in a Wig:

It can and will be nerve wracking when wearing your wig out for the first time, thousands of questions running in your head such as ''can people tell I'm wearing a wig?'', with my experience with wearing my wig for the first time I had loads of things running through my head, and the truth is i got nothing but compliments when I was out, many people didn't even know it was even a wig. and with one compliment I felt confident, happy.

''your hair looks lovely wish i could pull off that hair colour''

''have you dyed your hair? that colour looks amazing on you!''

'seriously! you cant even tell that's a wig!!'

What to Say When People Compliment Your Hair

Compliments can feel hard at first. When someone says “Your hair looks amazing!” your brain might short circuit for a minute. Do I say it’s a wig? Do I just say thank you?

How you can choose your response:

• Short and simple:  “Thank you!”

• to people who know you wear wigs: ''thanks—she’s new.”

• be completely open: “Thanks! It’s actually a wig. I love how it turned out.”

  
  

what I’ve found since receiving compliments most people are just giving you a compliment because they are, there are no hidden meanings. Just say thank you and move on.

At the end of the day there are so many different reasons to wearing a wig but at the end of the day its all about how you feel and what makes you feel beautiful and confident, and just enjoy the moment.
